The verdict of the trial in Paris of Messrs. NGENZI and BARAHIRA, sentenced in first instance to life imprisonment for genocide and crimes against humanity, has been confirmed today.

On behalf of all the victims of the Tutsi genocide, the SCRC welcomes this decision of the French justice, just decision, "without hatred nor revenge" but also recalls that many other people suspected of crimes against the humanity and genocide reside on French soil with impunity

As we often say, it is becoming increasingly difficult to prosecute persons who have participated in the genocide of Tutsi and who live on French soil. 24 years after the fact, the witnesses, either have disappeared, or prefer to turn the page, the slowness of justice having made them lose all confidence in this institution. And yet! In the framework of the Tutsi genocide, only the testimonies can both make it possible to write the history of the genocide and to bring those responsible to justice. This gives us the opportunity to thank all those who are fighting for the survivors to tell their story.

The trial of Mr. Claude MUHAYIMANA, whose OMA (Prosecution Order) has been communicated . Investigative fences have been announced in several cases, but the prosecution's indictments are slow in coming. This can only worry us to the extent that the schedule of business in the Assize Court of Paris seems already very crowded.

That justice be rendered, "without hatred nor revenge", to the victims of the genocide of the Tutsi and to their families. Time is running out!
