The suspense is over for the 750,000 baccalaureate candidates

78.8% of graduates had the joy of obtaining their baccalaureate in the first round. Results up very slightly: 0.2% more than last year. As for the remaining candidates, 53,000 (7.4%) were directly retrained and 99,300 high school students (13.83%) have to dive back into revisions to pass the catch-ups that will start on Monday.

The vocational stream is the one where we succeed the least with 75.6% admitted. However, this figure is not far removed from the technological (77.7%) and general (80.8%) sectors.

As far as general bins are concerned, this is the ES series (economic and social ) who stood out. Its rate of admission increases by 2.4% compared to last year and climbs to 78.8%. For the scientific (82.3%) and literary (79.8%) bins, the success rate varies very little. It will however wait until Thursday, and the proclamation of the final results, to know if 2018 was a record year for the bac. 753 148 candidates came to this session to obtain the precious sesame, which is 5% more than in 2017.

Among them, two were particularly distinguished. An 11-year-old girl graduated and became the youngest French woman ever to have a bachelor's degree and one of the oldest women, aged 71, was awarded the highest distinction! Marie-Anne Peric, former professor of French-Latin-Greek classical literature, wanted to impress her granddaughters by getting the mention quite well. Bet more than successful!
