The 20th Conference of the Heads of State of Uemoa opens Monday Lom

Lom (Togo) – Special Envoy, Edouard Tour – Heads of State and Government of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) hold their 20th Ordinary Session on Monday afternoon.

The Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara, President-in-Office of the UEMOA Conference of Heads of State and Government, will preside over this meeting, which will bring together heads of state from member countries and heads of the Union's institutions.

In the Togolese capital, which is also home to Monday morning a joint summit Cedeao-Ceeac, the Heads of State will discuss, among others, the Report on the State of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, the Note on the state of convergence in the Member States of the Union as well as the state of implementation of the High-level projects: Regional Initiative for Sustainable Energy (IRED); peace and security; food security in the WAEMU space

The Conference of Heads of State and Government is the supreme body which defines the main lines of Union policy

The Conference Appointing Presidents and Members of the Union's Organs and Institutions, meets at least once in ordinary session.
