We warm up for the Ardentes: our 6 favorites

[ad_1]

Every year since 2006, Liège transforms itself at the beginning of the summer to become the cradle of celebration and music. The reason ? The Ardentes Festival, which, for this 2018 edition, will be held at Astrid Park from July 5th to 8th. To warm up before the festivities, we list the artists not to be missed, and more than ever the program sends heavy!

Supreme NTM – Thursday, July 5

If the discography of the group has not evolved since 1998 and their eponymous classic "Supreme NTM", Kool Shen and Joey Starr love to come back on stage to revive the myth. After their tour in 2008 to celebrate their 20 years, they reform again for 30 years. Between the rocky road of Didier and the sharp texts of Bruno, the chemistry is perfect. If you're a bit aware of the energy the two guys are doing in concert (if you do not type "gig + ntm" on YouTube), you know it's a show you can not miss.

Damian Marley – Thursday, July 5th

A regular at festivals, Damian Marley will bring his madness combined with his reggae roots to set the Ardentes on fire! Son of a legend, obviously Bob Marley, he knew how to build his own career and get rid of the imposing figure of the father. "Junior Gong" has experienced a lot, collaborating with rapper Nas on a joint album as well as Skrillex or Mick Jagger. His powerful voice, flow, unique to Jamaicans, and his aura will certainly mark the 2018 edition.

Orelsan – Saturday, July 7

Outstanding figure of French rap for almost 10 years, Orelsan is famous for giving millimeter shows, surrounded by musicians, but also giving way to improvisation . When he arrived in 2009 with his wacky music videos and his speech as a middle class young man, Caennais offered a new vision that seduced as much as it disturbed. Since then, he has refined his pen, survived the media storms, and managed to talk to everyone through his music. His recent successes "Tout va bien" and " basic ", taken from his latest album "La fête est finie" are the perfect example. Orelsan is more mature than ever, never boring.

Migos – Sunday, July 8

The infernal trio of Atlanta brought the trap to a level of popularity never seen before. Offset, TakeOff and Quavo have been making hits for 5 years, from " Versace " in 2013 until " Walk It Talk It " in feat with Drake recently. Praised by the media and the public, the Migos have already marked this generation thanks to their jerky flow and their adlibs, which have inspired many rappers, French and Americans. A reference for all, combined with a certain charisma that make Migos the hip-hop group not to be missed by Les Ardentes.

Massive Attack – Sunday, July 8

Robert Del Naja and his friends had marked the public of the Ardentes in 2014, and are preparing to remake the same hold-up with their brand new show for this 2018 edition! The electronic training originating from Bristol and recognized worldwide, is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic of the 1990s or even all times. Precursors of trip-hop, their album "Mezzanine" celebrates its 20th anniversary this year by being the first album to be encoded in DNA. The relationship with music? No. We just wanted you to realize the genius of these guys. In short, go for it

Skepta – Sunday, July 8

Skepta is one of the pioneers of grime, a musical genre unique to England, but which is being exported more and more throughout the world. Influenced by the garage, the drum'n'bass and the dancehall, the grime develops a clean energy and electrifies the scene. Skepta, first DJ, managed to become one of the most popular artists in the Channel, before conquering the world. Notably thanks to the superstar Drake, with whom he is very close and for whom he put on his album "More Life" in 2017. True legend of a genre in expansion, but which remains active, Skepta will tread the stage at the top of his career

Here are our 6 artists that we must absolutely miss for this 2018 edition of Les Ardentes. But others such as Vald, Damso Wiz Khalifa, Lil Pump, Kalash, Ninho or Niska will be equally interesting to see on stage. Either for their star status, or for their propensity to ignite any audience with their shows. Highly on July 5.
