September 11 Special, Summer Concert Tribute to Patriot’s Day • News Atascadero

Combined with the summer concert “Saturdays in the park”

ATASCADERO – The town of Atascadero invites everyone to a special Patriots Day 2021 commemoration event, combined with the summer concert “Saturdays in the Park”, which will take place on Saturday September 11 in the Sunken Gardens of the downtown Atascadero, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The evening’s special program and festivities will start at 5 p.m. in front of the Town Hall on Palma Avenue. The very talented Show Choir from Atascadero High School will perform the national anthem, then everyone can Meet your local heroes, with our local agents and some of their vehicles at the disposal of the Atascadero Police and Fire Departments.

Scheduled to arrive precisely at 5:30 pm, the moving flight over the “Missing Man” formation over the Sunken Gardens will be performed by the pilots of Estrella Warbirds Freedom Flight. After the overview of the Warbirds, there will be more patriotic music performed by soloists from the Academy of Fine Arts of Atascadero and other Atascadero schools, as well as another opportunity for everyone to Meet your local heroes.

Just before 6 p.m., the evening will shift from a tribute to the Fête des Patriotes to the special double component of the summer concert series “Saturdays in the Park”. During the break, you can plan to visit the food trucks of Hungry Mother, Paradise Shaved Ice, Mary’s Cuisine and Let’s Crave It Crepes, or visit one of the local breweries for a craft beer or bottle of wine to take away.

In addition, the Atascadero Firefighters Association will sell Patriots’ Day commemorative shirts. From 5pm to 7pm, be sure to visit the Rock Art booth by #SLOPaintedRocks, where you can paint your own patriotic rock to add to the Rock Snake at Lake Atascadero Park!

The double concert will start at 6 p.m. with Painted Red Music and continue at 7:30 p.m. with Unfinished Business until 9 p.m. This Saturday concert has been moved from Lake Atascadero Park to Sunken Gardens for one evening only.
