Online Policy – Macron did not say that it is necessary to punish Serbia

Relations between Serbia and France are excellent and are based on very strong ties, reinforced over a hundred years ago by the alliance of the First World War, said the French ambassador in Belgrade, Frederik Mondoloni, in the interview of Politika. On the occasion of our national holiday this morning, on the 14th of July, Ambassador Mondoloni, in the Serbian capital for six months, considers that the French-Serb cooperation "has a great future".

– It is my great satisfaction to see every day that this attitude and desire of the Serbian government, but also of the citizens of Serbia, are such a position. On the political agenda, we are trying to revive the meetings at the highest level. Our two Presidents met on several occasions, and their meeting in Paris at the Climate Change Summit was particularly important. We hope that the next meeting of Presidents Emanuel Macron and Aleksandar Vucic on July 17th in Paris will be very meaningful. I also remind you that the French Foreign Minister, Le Dryan, was in Belgrade in April and it was the Foreign Minister's first visit after eight years – says Frederik Mondoloni.

Why do we feel that France and give others more initiative when it comes to contact Serbia? Is something changing?

I think this impression is false. We are present not only historically, but also presently, because Serbia is our most important partner in this part of Europe. As for the economic plan, we recently signed very large contracts. I would sing two – with the "Suez Group", on the waste treatment at the Vinca dump, and the one on the concession of Belgrade Airport with "Vansi". But we are not satisfied just with what we have accomplished, we are working for the future. In June we organized a business forum that brought together 400 companies, 60 of which were directly from France. Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic opened the meeting. The MEDEF delegation, which brings together the largest French companies, whose representatives met the highest officials of Serbia, has arrived.
