Scientists move closer to the artificial embryo

The international scientific team is closer to the creation of artificial embryos after using stem cells to form structures for cell and embryonic development.

Scientists believe that human embryos can be created in the same way in the future. Best research of the early stages of human development using artificial rather than original embryos

The team led by Magdalen Zernick-Gec, of 39; University of Kentucky, previously created a simpler structure resembling a mouse embryo in the laboratory. This work involved two types of stem cells and a three-dimensional structure on which the cells would develop.

However, scientists have now developed structures using three types of stem cells, allowing for a process of gastrulation. Gastrulation is a crucial step when embryonic cells begin to self-organize into an appropriate structure that allows embryonic development.
