Suicide attacks in southern Syria have made at least 38 dead, Syrian media and observers.

The attacks took place in the city of Sveida, under the control of the state, but also in the vicinity of the city. It is believed that the Islamic State is behind the attack.

Observing Group The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights said that at least 30 people had been injured.

The Syrian government has regained control of most of Syria in recent months.

The official Sana news agency reported a suicide bombing in Sveids and said three villages had been attacked in the north-east of the city. They did not provide data on the victims.

The Observatory reported a series of attacks south of the capital Damascus and elsewhere in the province.

"Three attackers with explosive belts targeted only the city, while other explosions hit villages in the north and east," the statement said.
