Representative Seth Moulton took part in the 2020 presidential campaign, becoming the last Democrat to join President Trump's overthrow.
The Sixth District Massachusetts Congressman announced his candidacy in a video on his website.
"I'm running because we have to defeat Donald Trump," said Moulton. "And I want us to beat Donald Trump because I love this country."
Aged 40 and originally from Salem, he is a veteran of the Marine Corps who won a bronze star for service in Iraq. He has been sitting in Congress since 2015. He joins a highly populated group that already includes two Massachusetts candidates, Senator Elizabeth Warren Gov. Bill Weld.
Moulton has scheduled events this week in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Iowa. The Globe announced last week that he had obtained a campaign office in Salem and Washington, D.C.
