Kaisand said that canine brucellosis can even spread from infected dogs to humans.

AHeinz57 Pet Rescue bought 32 of the more than 200 dogs sold at the auction with $ 10,000 from an anonymous donor.
Amy Heinz said she spent an average of $ 312 per dog at the auction and spent more than $ 500 per dog for spay, vaccination, other medical care and microchip.
She said that when they are ready for new homes, they will be priced at $ 195 each.
Heinz said that someone had contacted them about the auction and had said that this commercial breeder was closing down and that he was going to adopt some of the older dogs, which is why they had decided to attend.
"Our goal is to get dogs out of this lifestyle so they do not have to keep being raised until they die. It's just not a good life for dogs, so we're going to auction. It's our only opportunity to get them out of there, so we have to buy them, "said Heinz.
Heinz said that all the dogs supported by the rescue had been tested negative for the disease in the first round of tests.

Heinz said they had to quarantine their adoption building for an additional 30 days.
