INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The soggy pattern continues with a cold frontal pass bringing showers and storms, followed by much cooler temperatures.
Tuesday:
We will start the first hours of the morning in the dry with partially cloudy conditions. A line of showers and thunderstorms ahead of a cold front will develop in the state late morning in the afternoon. Potential for heavy precipitation at times.
The peaks reach the mid-70s in the early afternoon, but drop quickly into the upper 60s after the frontal passage.
Tuesday evening:
The front will stagnate just to our east, allowing showers to persist across much of the state.
The lowest falls in the mid-1950s.
Wednesday:
The showers will probably be there for the morning hours. Should be relatively light, but with much cooler air setting in it will be a rough day.
Highs peak in the lower 60s
8 day forecast:
The models hint at an elevation depression developing along the cold front, which could lead to enveloping showers in the upstate on Thursday. Otherwise, look for calm conditions to end the week, temperatures should return to the low 70s from Friday and return to the mid 70s for the end of the weekend until the start of next week. Just a chance of isolated downpour possible as a weak cold front moves from Friday evening to Saturday morning.
