SINGAPORE: Nine women have been arrested for offering sexual services in homes in Yishun and Kovan, police said on Wednesday (November 28th).
Women between the ages of 21 and 39 reportedly announced their services online, Singapore police (SPF) said in a press release.
A 33-year-old man suspected of renting one of the houses used for illegal activities was also arrested. Fifteen mobile phones were also seized as exhibits.
The 10 suspects were arrested during a series of police raids that took place over six days from 17 to 22 November, the SPF said. More than 400 people and 89 residential and commercial units in Ang Mo Kio, Kovan, Sembawang and Yishun were controlled during the raids.
The police also discovered vice activities in an accredited massage parlor and discovered another salon operating without a license and offering sexual services.
A 55-year-old woman was arrested in one of the massage parlors for violations of the Women's Charter.
Two men aged 30 and 64 were arrested for alleged involvement in online scams. Two other teenagers, aged 16 each, were arrested for unlicensed money loan offenses.
Investigations into all cases are ongoing, the police said.
