After multiple problems and stories between Lanterns and newly reformed Darkstars, HAL JORDAN and GREEN LANTERN BODY # 49 bring us the start of their final battle. It was a battle of two opposing states – the justice of the lanterns, and the brutal revenge of the Darkstars.

Since the beginning, lanterns have struggled to keep their moral ground as the Darkstars have gained more and more support. There is no final debate between these two to fix things now. Instead, we have a huge battle between the two forces and their allies, all focused on one plane. What to expect from HAL JORDAN AND THE BODY OF THE GREEN LANTERN # 49

The number 49 saw the lantern repel the waves of Darkstars on Mogo. This problem comes immediately from there, with John Stewart recording the battle. There are some epic splash pages of Guardians and Lanterns who are fighting Darkstars on Mogo. Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Zod, Arkillo and Orion fight Darkstars in space.

John records both fights, describing how the Lanterns are fighting to show the universe in a better way. It puts the spotlight on the weight of the battle, especially since John describes the slim odds they have against Darkstar technology. John wishes he could be there, but he coordinates an epic two-part plan on the Darkstars. The battles are mainly intended to distract, while the second part of the plan comes into effect. Not surprisingly, this involves Hal Jordan

The Second Wave

Hal brought Hector Hammond to the nerve center of Darkstar, where the Controllers are connected to the machines. Hal needs Hammond to disrupt the network by taking control of Darkstars. Hammond's first impulse is to kill them, but Hal brings him back to the lightest moment of the book. Hammond easily binds and replaces the spirit of Darkstar, paving the way for the next part of the plan …
