WThe commercial director of hatsApp leaves the company, the latest leader to have fled since the courier service was purchased by Facebook.
Neeraj Arora, who had already been tipped to take up the post of president and CEO after the departure of its founder earlier this year, announced his departure Monday night.
The former Googler worked at WhatsApp for seven years after being poached by co-founders Jan Koum and Brian Acton, both of whom have since left. He will leave to take time to "relax and spend time with his family," he wrote on Facebook.
Arora, formerly described as "number four employee" in a TechCrunch article, did not mention Mark Zuckerberg, who had purchased the app for $ 22 billion (2014) in his ticket to Farewell, thanking Koum and Acton rather and what he described as being a "little together".
He said, "I've had the chance to work with a small group of talented people and see how manic focus can create something magical that is loved by billions of people.
