A: Yes, I was running a lot and I have often participated in cross country races at school. After tearing my knee meniscus, I switched to cheerleading in high school.

I kept running whenever I could, because it's very easy to go out running and I love this radiance cardio. But I studied music in higher education and at university, which meant I spent four to seven hours a day playing the flute.

It made my neck and shoulders so tense, so I started yoga to release all the tension in my upper body. It was also a good way to relax and concentrate during the 60 minutes of practice. To get the "cardio" element, I started doing HIIT exercises because they are really time-efficient and I get sweaty.

While pursuing my musical studies, I found myself in New York in the summer of 2014. At this point, I have been practicing yoga regularly for four years and I was looking for different yoga studios in New York where they could be able to do yoga. ; driving. so many beautiful charming studios.

Then my friends dragged me into a bar class, saying, "Yoga is great, but you have not felt all your muscles working until you've been to the gym." closed off". After my first class, I became hooked. At the time, I considered myself physically fit, but this class completely upset me – I never felt my muscles were forced to work that way.

In quick advance, I came back to Singapore and was trying to find a bar workout to challenge myself, and started telling everyone that I was aware of it. One day, the owner of a now-defunct fitness studio said he wanted to organize a bar program in Singapore and he asked me if I would be interested in taking a training course. part-time instructor.

I took up the challenge and I enrolled in the training. It is there that I met my current business partner, Linda. Unfortunately, once our training was over, the studio was sold to another owner. This is where Linda and I took a step back, we got together and discussed what it would be like if we had introduced Barre to Singapore. The stars all started to line up and in January 2016, WeBarre was born.

There was no studio in Singapore offering a boutique experience specializing in the bar. I wanted to create a studio specialized in the bar, to be able to do a modality very well and to be the mark that comes to my mind every time we think about the bar. Plus, I was at a time in my life where the possibilities were endless, and when the idea of creating my own bar studio, I thought, I thought, "Why not?". I know that when I focus on something, I find it difficult to make my dreams come true.

Bar is the perfect workout to strengthen and tone the body, boost stamina, strength and flexibility without fear of "swelling". This physique appeals to many women who want to be slender, improve their posture and be thin. It targets your entire body, especially the smaller muscles, such as the core stabilizers and glutes, which are heavily underused and weakened by our modern lifestyle.

With bar, you quickly see visible results and start to notice an increase in your stamina and resistance level, which will help you increase your performance in other activities such as running and competitive sports. For men, after all this work of larger muscle groups, lifting weights in the gym, it is important to mix the routine with the bar. The core and stability muscles must be strong in order to safely and effectively lift heavy weights with minimal tension, maximum ease and postural awareness.

I am happier than ever with my fitness and my body and I want to maintain it! As we age, our body recovers more slowly and more effort is needed to control everything. Flexibility also becomes a challenge as we get older and stiffen. So I am aware of this and try to stay active, stretch and work my flexibility whenever I can.

Before I started WeBarre, I was pretty chubby, but to be very honest, I never let myself be impressed. I had the habit of having heavy bosom and had pain in the lower back, to the point that I considered doing a breast reduction – this to what my mother told me to stop being stupid, then I dropped it.

Of course, I make the usual plea "Oh, do not take a big picture of me!", Or I will buy clothes that will slim and flatter me, but I've never really thought that I'm He was fat or chubby. Whenever I enter a room, I like to be comfortable with myself, comfortable and proud of what I have.

I would not say that I have a negative perception of myself. But strangely, when I started losing weight, I felt pretty embarrassed because the size of my bust dropped significantly, and that 's a part of me that I' ve suddenly felt missing. I was soon put back, because the rest of my body was healthy, strong and happy.

<p class = "canvas-atom canvas-text Mb (1.0em) Mb (0) – sm Mt (0.8em) – sm" type = "text" content = "Are you satisfied with your body now?"data-reactid =" 98 ">Are you satisfied with your body now?

Yes, I'm happy with my body. I am aware of my stretch marks, belly fat, my chest, etc., but I also recognize that I am stronger, that I fit better into my clothes and that I have never felt so good.

It is a fact that we are all exposed to social media and, with this, to a misconception that a body is what it takes to be "fit" and think that it is achievable or that it is should strive to achieve it. In addition, to be strong, you must surpass all others: lift heavier weights, run faster than the person next to you, take more courses than average.

Fitness is not a competition, I consider fitness as your own personal journey to create the life you want.

We should not underestimate the ability to move. This is in itself a blessing. You do not know how important it is until you discover one day that your mobility is disrupted. Staying active helps you stay agile, helps your body function more efficiently and becomes more agile.

Much more than physical benefits, exercise stimulates your mood, your attention and your memory, while protecting your brain against degenerative diseases – the key to staying fit and feeling younger.
