Liverpool Robertson frustrated by Neymar's game

REUTERS: Liverpool were frustrated by Paris St Germain Neymar's striker in the Champions League 2-1 defeat on Wednesday, but should have better controlled his aggression against Brazil's "play-acting" defenseman Andy Robertson.

The Parc des Princes competition was marked by several interruptions. Last season's finalists, Liverpool, made 20 fouls and six yellow cards, but Robertson said the French had been playful.

"I guess they were in the lead and they were trying to waste time, you can use fantasy, play, you can really use all that," Robertson told Sky Sports.

"I'd like to know how long they've lost … it's been frustrating, but when you play against PSG, you know it's something you'll meet especially with him (Neymar). It was not something we dealt with tonight.

"It's frustrating when he falls as he is, it's an integral part of his game and we had to deal with it – we did not control our aggression enough."

The defeat left the English club hope to reach the last 16 games outstanding.

Liverpool are third in Group C with six points, two behind PSG and three behind Napoli, who will face Anfield in the last round of matches on 11 December.

The Juergen Klopp team needs a 1-0 win, or a win of two goals or more, to progress.

"It's at Anfield, I'm sure we'll have another special night, and fans can create a special atmosphere and hopefully get the result we need," Robertson said.
