Former Arsenal and Chelsea defenseman Ashley Cole has been released by the Los Angeles Galaxy, the Major League Soccer club said.
The 37-year-old is one of eight players to leave the club after deciding not to exercise the option of extending the contract for next season.
Cole joined the Galaxy in 2016 and was named captain earlier this year. He scored three goals in 86 appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the list of players selected for the club next season, despite reports linking him with a return to Europe.
The AC Milan would be about to seal an agreement with the Swedish star, which could take the form of an initial loan agreement six months before a final transfer.
