Bose wants to keep road noise out of your vehicle

According to Bose, its new sound cancellation system combines accelerometers, proprietary signal processing software, microphones and the vehicle audio system to electronically fight unwanted sounds. Accelerometers are mounted on the vehicle body and can measure vibrations that create noise. When they detect a potential disturbance, the system goes into high gear to create an acoustic cancellation signal that is delivered by the vehicle's speakers. Meanwhile, the microphones around the cab of the car monitor residual noise levels and help adjust the signal over time. As your car ages, the system will block better and better all the new noises that could filter.

Bose said it would work with automakers throughout the development process to customize cars with the QuietComfort system. The best known company for audio equipment is more interested in cars, especially by developing a technology for smoothing towers for autonomous vehicles. It is expected that noise reduction technology will be available in production models by the end of 2021.
