Boy, 14, earns £ 150,000 playing Fortnite 18 hours a day and never goes to school

A teenager earned £ 150,000 playing the Fortnite video game 18 hours a day at most.

Griffin Spikoski, 14, records himself playing and downloading the videos on YouTube.

The huge popularity of his videos has earned him huge cash payments from sponsors, advertisers and donations.

The New York teenager, who calls Skeptic Online, spends between eight and 18 hours playing gaming every day.

Instead of going to school, he takes online courses that suit his games, reports the Sun. But his father, Chris, emphasizes that homework always has priority.

Even Griffin believes that he plays "too much" at the popular game.

He told ABC: "I play a lot, about eight hours and on weekends, I play until 18 hours.

"It's certainly a lot.

"You must be patient and you must have dedication."

When asked if he thinks he should reduce his expenses, he responds: "It's a bit of my job."

But Griffin is very reasonable with his new wealth and saves all his money for his age.

He said, "I'm just going to save it, if it's falling or what I can use at the university, in a house, whatever."

Fortnite is a very popular survival strategy game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows and Mac.

It combines the collection and construction of Minecraft resources with team survival shooter games.

The main action, in Save The World mode, is to shoot and attack with melee weapons, but players can also build fortifications and work with their teammates to defend the survivors from waves of enemy monsters.
