Jamie Carragher Liverpool says "can count on the defense to win a match", even without two crucial strikers.

Liverpool had its best start to the Premier League season with ten wins and three draws in its first 13 games.

They score fewer goals than last season but have improved considerably in defense, conceding only five goals with Manchester City leaders.

It seems that Jurgen Klopp is learn to prefer the symphony after alleven after selling Philippe Coutinho in January and losing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a long-term injury.

"It's interesting because the whole season has started to play when Liverpool starts playing like last season," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"However, we can ask ourselves if Liverpool is slightly different this season.

"Do not forget that there is no Philippe Coutinho. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has shown great motivation and speed from the midfield. The top three were also at the World Cup.

"You now have Virgil van Dijk and a goalkeeper.

"Is it a bit like the Liverpool teams where I played?

"Last season, I said that this team was playing football and that our teams had never played. But in fact, it goes back a little to the past of Benitez and Houllier.

"They probably play a little more football than us, but they can count on the defense to win a game."
