Football: Valencia in ruins against Juventus Ronaldo

TURIN, Italy: The sending of Cristiano Ronaldo against Valencia in the Champions League group stage will have no impact on how the Juventus star will play Tuesday during the return leg in Turin, said the Spanish coach Marcelino García.

Garcia called the match match "all or nothing" for the Spaniards at a press conference held Monday, November 26.

"I do not think that what happened in Valencia really matters," said Garcia before a match that the Spanish club has to win to keep his hopes of reaching the last 16 games.

Juventus leads Group H with nine points in four games, Manchester United two points and Spaniards five. The Swiss club Young Boys is already out of the race.

"What can I say? Cristiano is an extraordinary player, he has the great ambition to be the best and win all the time," Garcia said.

"I do not think we will find a Ronaldo different from the one we are used to in Spain where we know all its distinctive features."

Garcia noted that it would be "a very important match against a team that could even win the competition".

"Our future in the Champions League depends on this win, it will be a difficult, difficult and complicated match."

Garcia said that he had been boosted by the recent form of his team with three trotting victories and that he wanted to get angry at the way Manchester United earlier this month, after scoring two goals late to impose 2-1 in Turin.

"What I would like to do tomorrow is to win as Man United Juventus was superior but United scored and won.

"Juventus were almost victorious, but winning in football is a game of goals – if you play less well, but you score more goals, you win.

"We have an opportunity to win tomorrow."

Paulo Dybala, the Juventus striker, did not play for the double winner of the European Cup during the 2-0 win in Spain.

But Garcia said that focusing on one player in particular would be silly.

"All players of Juve are absolutely excellent.

"We are not concerned with a single player other than the group. We must stop that great power that they have."
