Starting next month, Haw Par Villa will be closed for three months for repair work.
In a statement released Tuesday, November 27, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced that the amusement park would be closed from December 1 to February 28. "To ensure public safety, the entire park will be closed temporarily during this period," he said.
The park will reopen for free public access on March 1, 2019.
Haw Par Villa was built in 1937 by Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, the two Burmese brothers who invented the herbal balm Tiger Balm.
The two philanthropists built Haw Par Villa to preserve Chinese culture. The park contains over a thousand statues and dioramas illustrating Chinese mythology and folklore.
