After the teaser in the early days of December, Honor View 20 is now official. The phone has just been announced in China under the name Honor V20. A global launch will follow at an event in Paris, France, on January 22nd. The phone comes with a selfie camera punched in the screen and a 48-inch Sony IMX586 rear shooter joined by a 3D ToF sensor at the back. This will be the first flagship of the company in 2019.

The Honor V20 is built around a 6.4 "LCD screen with 1080p resolution and an unusually high ratio of 19.25: 9. The chipset is Kirin 980, which is paired with 6GB of RAM or 8GB of RAM, while the storage options are two – 128GB and 256GB. Having an LCD screen means that there is no UD fingerprint reader – it there is a conventional one at the back.
The front panel has a hole for the 25 MP selfie launcher, but only the LGP layer has been cut, while the OCA, POL, color filter and array filters remain the same. Honor boasted that she refined the entire manufacturing process so that the camera did not physically enter the display.
If you want to know more about the design and manufacturing process, you should go that way.
The Honor V20 comes with a gradient back panel with a V that changes color depending on the viewing angle. The 48 MP sensor is large – 1/2 inch (0.8 μm / pixel) CMOS sensor with Quad-Bayer bay allowing binning of pixels for HDR 12 MP night-time sockets.
The 3D ToF sensor associated with the Kirin 980 chipset allows the 3D shaping of the body, so that you can have a perfect appearance in your full height images.
Honor V20 (View 20) comes with EMUI and offers all of Huawei's well-known features, such as Super Night View – freehand long distance shooting. There is also EIS and GPU Turbo 2.0 out of the box.

The Honor V20 supports Huawei's desktop mode. It can also be used as a replacement for a desktop PC when connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
It supports dual-frequency GPS positioning as well as a triple Wi-Fi antenna.
The battery weighs 4,000 mAh and comes with 22.5 W SuperCharge support – 4.5 V / 5 A. It should fill the battery up to 55% in 30 minutes or up to the top for an hour and a half because that's how the Huawei Mate 20 behaved the same way in our tests.
Price and availability
Honor View 20 comes in three colors: red, blue and black. The 6/128 GB variant costs CNY 2,999 (USD 435), while the 8/128 GB option is 3,499 CNY (USD 510). The Moschino version comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and costs CNY 3,999 (US $ 580), but it does not have the elegant black panel.
