SINGAPORE – Furnishing giant Ikea recalled its Glivarp expandable dining table due to reports from customers that the extension of the dining table would have broken off the rails and dropped.
In a statement issued Tuesday, November 27, Ikea said that no known incident has been reported in Singapore.
All customers who have purchased the frosted white table are urged to stop using the product immediately and return it to the nearest Ikea store for a full refund, said the Swedish company.
No proof of purchase will be required to return the product.
Cindy Andersen, Commercial Director of Kitchen and Dining at Ikea in Sweden, said: "The extension is likely to come off the rails, which could lead to its collapse."
The batch of affected dining tables is being recalled as a precautionary measure, she added.
"We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for your understanding," Ikea said in his Facebook message.
Members of the public can contact the Ikea Customer Contact Center at 6786-6868 for more information.
