"Why is TESLA not in Singapore?" The question has always been asked of Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, who always has the same answer to people: "(Singapore), the government has not been well received."
In a previous tweet of Musk in May of last year, in response to the invitation of a surfer to "do something" to allow Singaporeans to obtain a Tesla, he has said: "We tried, but the Singapore government does not support electric vehicles."

Electric cars have been on the rise for some years now. In 2017, the global fleet of electric vehicles increased by 54% to approximately 3.1 million.
According to forecasts from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the number of electric vehicles on the roads in the world will reach 125 million by 2030. That would be in eleven years.
This could be one of the many reasons why Singaporeans wonder: why is TESLA not seen in a country as global as the city, Singapore?
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) responded that it encouraged the adoption of greener and cleaner vehicles such as hybrid buses and electric vehicles, as part of its approach to "reduce emissions from the land transport sector and improve the quality of air.
However, Tesla's CEO said in response to another tweet about Singapore's economy being "fossil fuel dependent" and that the government was opposed to electric vehicles. He said Singapore "has enough independence".
Tan Min-Liang, CEO of Razer, a global manufacturer of gaming equipment, has not missed the opportunity to tweet Musk, claiming he was "happy to have the money." a solar or battery-powered equipment "when its new head office in Southeast Asia gets -North opens in 2020 to test or introduce the technology. Tan claimed to have placed an order for a Tesla 3 in Singapore.
That was in 2010 when Tesla Motors opened a sales office, but only to shut down its business less than a year later. Starting in 2016, an owner imported a Hong Kong Tesla Model S sedan and was unexpectedly fined $ 15,000 in carbon surcharge by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
In April of last year, Hong Seh Motors car dealership started importing Tesla cars from Hong Kong. Two Tesla models were presented at the Singapore Yacht Show in Sentosa.
