as a winner and 12 finalists selected from a panel of judges
of the creative appeal, which took place in Sydney earlier in
May 2018.

The Creative Call Out is Lane Crawford's commitment to identifying and
nurture the best fashion and lifestyle talents around the world.
The event in Sydney represents the eighth round with the previous
events held in Los Angeles, Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Hong
Kong.
Held at The Woolmark Company Headquarters in Sydney, 24
the finalists were selected from more than 240 nominations
Fashion, lifestyle and creative categories.
The finalists were selected to present their collections and
portfolios to a panel of representatives of Lane Crawford and
industry experts, including Mrs. Edwina McCann

The winner, Tom Fereday Design was chosen for his principles of
honest design, conveying a design process that celebrates the
materials and manufacturing processes by collaborating with
the manufacturers.

yet incredibly durable.
We are looking forward to taking Tom on the trip to China, where
he will have the opportunity to present his creative products to a

Tom Fereday will be awarded an 18-month partnership that includes
a business development investment of HK $ 500,000 (A $ 83,000) and
investment in its collections.
As part of the partnership, it will include access to Lane
Crawford's retail platform, mentoring and team development
specialists in internal distribution.

Twelve finalists will be selected to launch their collections
two seasons, hospitality services as well as mentoring and

STUDIO A.C.V
Founded by artist Anna Varendorff and handcrafted in Melbourne, a.c.v
studio creates a conceptual and sculptural homeware limited edition
objects. Varendorff relies on his formal training as a blacksmith
and artist to look at each creation from three perspectives,
including the potential of a material, the practical and conceptual need
point of view. Minimalist creations are formed with the help of tubes
brass, a material
which leaves a pink color chart

CHRIS RAN LIN
Chris Ran Lin, Melbourne-based Chinese fashion designer, combines
traditional sewing techniques and craft with vivid

ELECTRICAL CONFETTI
Founded by Australian Natalie Jarvis, Electric Confetti is a
Melbourne-based studio creating contemporary neon signs. Jarvis
started as an illustrator and designer of children's books, but he was
his love of vintage signs that lead him to discover this LED neon
flex could be used to make one's own
humorous versions of traditional neon. From the retro ice cone,
bold typography and tongue-in-cheek fruit, hand-made designs

The two sisters Laura May and Hannah Gibbs have their origins

through a process of sustainable development. They are passionate about

NONCENSE
Australian designers Patrick Crea and Stu Freeman join creativity
forces in 2015 to give the humble incense burner a creative
revision. Artistic Director Freeman has always been drawn to bright, bold colors
colors and inspired by the food being used in an unconventional way,

the world of retail. The duo set out to put a satirical twist on

Brisbane-based fashion designer and multidisciplinary artist Rachel
Burke creates spectacularly creative portable art pieces using
tinsel. The brand was born after Burke experimented by sticking pink
flashy on an old jacket, creating an interest among his social media
followers. Fast forward five years and Burke now offers fans a
range of dresses and jackets tinsel-inducing happiness in
rainbow hues. Each custom made part uses high quality, recycled
clothing as a structural base, and Burke's creations are
shimmering pieces made to celebrate.
STUDIO SKEEHAN
Industrial designer Tom Skeehan makes elegant, contemporary craftsmanship
furniture while being heavily engaged with local manufacturers.
Each piece takes a very material approach to its design,
explore different materials and combinations while constantly
redefine the details to create minimalist designs that have been
stripped to their purest form. Inspire from the
honest and thoughtful approach of the Japanese designer Naoto
Fukasawa and architect Tadao Ando, Skeehan Studio is a modern
indoor workshop with a difference.
STUDIO HENRY WILSON
Sydney-based Henry Wilson's work focuses on sculpture, utility
castings made of bronze and aluminum
.
The reflective drawings are a reflection of Wilson's vast expanse
qualifications; he studied visual arts combined with woodwork
at the School of Art of the Australian National University in Canberra and
completed a Master's degree in Industrial Design at the Design Academy
Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Wilson's work is clearly
combines form and function, creating pieces from
industrial processes still have a unique individual

THOMAS PUTTICK
After stays at Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang,
Australian designer Thomas Puttick has focused his energy on creating
a tight collection of luxury, sophisticated and versatile
