LeBron James: The Lakers have been ordered to make a great deal with Bradley Beal, two key stars to leave? | Other | sport

This is the opinion of Stephen A. Smith, ESPN expert, who says that LeBron needs gunmen around him.

The Lakers fell to a 117-85 loss to the Denver Nuggets overnight.

And LeBron James only managed 14 points in the entire game – one of his least effective performances of his career.

Beal reportedly told wizards in Washington that he wanted to leave with the Lakers and the Boston Celtics on alert.

And Smith thinks the 25-year-old would be an ideal partner for LeBron.

He said, "I think the Lakers should do everything in their power to try to catch Bradley Beal.

"I'm talking about trade via. I would exchange Ingram, I would exchange Lonzo Ball. I would give them both for Bradley Beal.

"I tell you, LeBron needs turners. The problem is that you have guys who can play but do not necessarily shoot at manufacturers.

"They will make a few moves and they can play, but they are not manufacturers of shots.

"Bradley Beal is a shooter and if I'm the Lakers and I can find him, I'll do it."

LeBron and his teammates currently sit seventh in the NBA Western Conference, led by the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors.

Smith also criticized LeBron for his exhibition against the Nuggets.

He said, "They grabbed the joint. They were absolutely awful.

"LeBron James has had one of the worst games of his career.

"We will not stay here and pretend it's normal.

"For LeBron James to score 14 points, he scored four points in the last three quarters of the game.

"Now, of course, this could bring back remnants of his championship appearance against the Dallas Mavericks in the fourth quarter, but since then, it's time to say that LeBron James is not that guy."

The Lakers will resume the fight against the Indiana Pacers Friday at 15:30 (19:30 Pacific time), where they will seek to find their way victories.
