It's according to BT Sport John Arne Riise, former left-back Liverpool and Norway.
Verratti launched a serious challenge to Liverpool defender Joe Gomez in the first half of the Champions League game.
Referee Szymon Marciniak was quick to brandish a yellow card to the Italian international.
But the retransmissions showed that he was catching Gomez late and that he was lucky not to be allowed to follow him.
Riise thinks that Verratti was lucky not to see the red and that the PSG man could have easily broken Gomez's leg.
"It should be a red right," said Riise.
"You're lucky that Gomez's leg is moving on the ground.
"If he did not move, that leg would be broken.
"It's a clear red card, it should be off."
Meanwhile, former England captain Rio Ferdinand is a big fan of Gomez and can see the Liverpool defender become one of the best in the country.
"This is his first full season and yes, he will commit positional mistakes as he is a young defender, it is the young defenders," said Ferdinand.
"But the raw material he has, his pace, his power, his envy, his aggression, his freshness under pressure, his excellent performance on the ball, fly both feet.
"And his pace for tackling the recovery, if he made a mistake in position, managed to get out of trouble with this pace.
"But this kid for me is running to be the best defender we have in England.
"I give him such esteem. It's calm, it's cool, you need it when you're under pressure.
"It's a unit and that's what they've been missing for a long time in this club, a defensive unit that can serve as a platform for them to continue and be a success."
