The all-new Mazda3 adopts Mazda's new Skyactiv vehicle architecture, designed to help people get the most out of their natural sense of balance. The Powertrain range includes the latest Skyactiv-X (SPCCI engine), Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-D engines, each offering responsive speed control in all driving situations. Mazda has improved the basic driving characteristics of the car, such as acceleration, cornering and braking are perfectly natural.

  • The all-new Mazda3 is the first production car to feature the innovative Mazda Skyactiv-X engine. SPCCI works with ordinary gasoline by compressing the air-fuel mixture at a much higher compression ratio, with a very lean mixture. The SKYACTIV-X engine uses a spark to ignite only a small, dense amount of the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. This raises the temperature and pressure so that the remaining fuel-air mixture ignites under pressure (like a diesel), burning faster and more completely than in conventional engines.

Features include superior initial response, strong torque, faithful linear response, and smooth performance. The engine is powered by Mazda's new M Hybrid Smart System, which maximizes fuel economy and provides a higher level of driving pleasure and environmental friendliness.

  • The 5, 2.0 and 2.5 liter versions of the latest Skyactiv-G are the gasoline engine line of the new Mazda3. All three adopt optimized intake ports and piston shape, split fuel injection and coolant control valve to deliver superior dynamic performance, fuel economy and environmental friendliness

  • The Skyactiv-D 1.8 is the diesel engine offering of the new Mazda3. The incorporation of ultra-high-response multi-hole piezo injectors allows the engine to use a multi-stage, high-pressure, precisely controlled injection. This allows for a better balance between fuel economy, silence and exhaust reduction, while ensuring smoother and more robust performance.

Mazda's advanced i-Activ AWD system adds four-wheel vertical load sensing and works in tune with GVC Plus to control torque distribution between the front and rear wheels. As a result, it is perfectly capable of responding faithfully to the driver's intentions, regardless of the driving environment. It also reduces overall mechanical losses by about 60% compared to the previous model and helps to improve fuel economy.

G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus) adds direct control of yaw moment via the brakes. This allows the car to better handle emergency avoidance maneuvers and provides more inspiring controllability in a variety of situations, including high-speed lane changes and driving on slippery roads.

After selling more than 6 million units since its debut in 2003, the all-new Mazda3 is a global strategic model that has allowed Mazda to grow both from a brand and a commercial point of view.
