Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti said his team would be "really silly" if it did not reach the knockout stages of the Champions League.
After touring Paris Saint-Germain, the Azzurri host Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night, knowing that the win would lead them to the round of 16, provided that PSG do not beat Liverpool in the other match of the group.
Any other combination of results would see their fate decided in their last group match at Anfield in two weeks.
"We are well placed in this group that was almost impossible and we can now put the icing on the cake," said Ancelotti. "Our goal is to pass and we do it now or in our last game, it does not change much.
"I think we will be in the last game and I would go so far as to say that in the position we are, if we do not go to the end, we would really be idiots. "
Ancelotti said Red Star, who held their goalless draw in Belgrade and beat Liverpool 2-0, was taken too lightly by his group rivals.
"They may have lost both away games, but they deserved to beat Liverpool home," he said. "I'm waiting for them to be organized, especially in defense, and they will try to hit us at the break.
"They've been a bit underrated so far."
