Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon believes the top three in the Liverpool standings he faces tonight are the best in the world.
The 40-year-old cap, who only signed PSG this summer, knows how difficult it will be for PSG to keep out the group of three Sadio Mane, Jurgen Klopp, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, at the Parc des Princes.
Brazilian Firmino scored a goal by stopping his match upside down at Anfield in September while Liverpool had won 3-2 and a repeat of that result would almost guarantee their progression in the last 16.
Buffon However, he is perfectly aware of the quality of Liverpool's three strikers, it is harder to think of a better trio in the world.
"Liverpool have a very strong team – but I mostly look at their leading players," said the Italian at the Daily Mirror.
"With Salah, Mane and Firmino, they have a lot of rhythm, creativity and, of course, they all pose a major threat.
"Throughout my career, I've always wanted to confront the best – and for the moment, you really can not think of any team in Europe having a better three-way front than Liverpool."
The former goalkeeper of Juventus, Buffon, has never won the Champions League and he confessed that he was dreaming of a romantic finale to his 23 year career.
"This season, the favorites of the Champions League are Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City. Liverpool also has a great chance and we can never forget Real Madrid, "added Buffon.
"Of course, my dream is always to win the Champions League.Last season, I thought it would be my last chance, but I have another one."
