Nabil Fekir has finalized his transfer of 27 million pounds from Lyon to Real Betis and is apparently in "perfect condition".

Fekir, 26, seemed almost certain to leave Lyon for Liverpool last summer. Both clubs agreed to pay € 65 million before the start of the World Cup.

However, the negotiations broke down at the eleventh hour after Liverpool asked a second doctor to take stock of a knee problem with the playmaker.

The Reds would have been interested in the player again this summer, while Arsenal was also tied to the player when it turned out that his asking price had been reduced dramatically.

Fekir, which would have cost Liverpool three times last summer, has signed a four-year deal in Spain.

Sky sports report that the contract for the French international, which had just been running for a year in France, is worth £ 17.75 million, with an additional £ 9.8 million and a 20% sale clause for Lyon .

Yassin, Nabil's brother, also joined Betis for a 50% sale clause.

"With the arrival of Fekir, Real Betis acquires creativity, a great technique, his shooting skills and his attack," reads the website of the Spanish side.

Betis's Twitter account also released a photo of the offensive midfielder during his medical exam with the caption, which may well be aimed at Liverpool: "In perfect health"
