REAL MADRID NARROW STRIKER SEARCH DOWN TO TWO NAMES
Real Madrid have identified Edinson Cavani and Mauro Icardi as their two main attack targets for the January transfer window, reports said.
The Spanish giants are looking for a new center forward and Ok diario indicate that the search has been reduced to Cavani or Icardi.
Cavani of PSG was linked to a move to Chelsea during the summer, while Icardi had long been interested in the Blues and Manchester United.
The report says President Real, Florentino Perez, wants to sign one of two players to try to revive the club's fortunes. The holders of the Champions League have moved to 6th place in the league table.
However, Real could face competition from Cavani of Naples, where the Uruguayan would meet with former coach Carlo Ancelotti. Meanwhile, Icardi has been linked again with a move to Old Trafford, as part of an exchange for Paul Pogba.
MAN UTD SERIOUS ABOVE TRAVEL FOR YOUNG ATHLETIC
Manchester United is ready to assume the exit costs of the contract of the young star of Athletic Bilbao Inigo Vicente, according to several reports in Spain.
Reports in Sports witness United's Spanish scout, Toni Lima, watched the player in action this weekend while Team B Athletic Bilbao was opposed to Barakaldo. He sent favorable information to the giants of the Premier League.
And now, according to El DesmarqueUnited will now launch an approach in January for the talented offensive or attacking midfielder. Athletic Club wants to extend its contract, but it has not yet committed to a new contract, which expires in June 2020, and it has a release clause of 8 million euros – a figure that will not be a problem for United.
El Gol Digitalalso confirmed United's interest. They claim that the 20-year-old has been widely regarded as one of the most promising players in Spanish football, although his failure to break through the first team has surprised many others – and only serves to reinforce the claims, Vicente will be tempted to try his luck in the Premier League with United.
The asking price of € 8m (£ 7.06m) will not be exaggerated for United, especially if it manages to make him a star of the first team.
