DJI has announced Osmo Pocket, a cardan / camera combo of just 4 "height, worth $ 349, which films a 4K 60p video at 100 Mbps and offers a full range of features as well only optional accessories.
The Osmo Pocket camera is based on a 1 / 2.3-inch sensor capable of shooting up to 4K 60P or capturing 12-megapixel still images. The battery has a range of up to 140 minutes in 4K 30p mode.
Like other DJI gimbals, it offers 3-axis stabilization and with an integrated camera, it is obviously always ready to capture this shot without balancing. The motors are brushless and the cooling system is absolutely silent.
The combination of the small size of the unit and an integrated touch screen allows one-handed use of the device. Pocket also sports what DJI calls a "universal port" to connect a mobile phone or other accessories.
Siding on its UAV technologies, Osmo Pocket also works in several modes. The FPV captures the action from the shooter's point of view by following the gimbal's orientation. Active Track allows you to touch the screen to follow a specific topic that may also include a selfie mode to follow you, the shooter. The 3×3 Panorama mode invokes a wide angle for panoramic shooting, while Motionlapse creates a smooth timelapse. Finally, Night Shot seems to work by expanding the camera's ISO range.
DJI has also developed what it calls DJI Mimo, a free application for editing, effects and content sharing.
The camera can also be used in Pro mode, which allows manual configuration of ISO, aperture and shutter speed. In addition, photos can be captured in JPEG or RAW format.
Optional accessories include a battery handle, controller wheel, wireless Bluetooth adapter, ND filter set, USB-C or Lightning phone adapter, extension pole, carrying bag and waterproof case for shooting up to 60 meters deep.
We look forward to putting the Osmo pocket to the test as soon as we can put our little worried hands on one of them.
The base unit is priced at $ 349 US. Preorders have already started and DJI is expected to be shipped around December 15th.
