A GIANT rodent dives into a river to escape a dinner with a sneaky jaguar.
The male capybara was having a drink on the shore when the big cat attacked.
The "rat", the size of a pig, rushed into the water before swimming on the other side.
Photographer Jeff Foott filmed the drama along the Cuiaba River in Mato Grosso, Brazil.
The 75-year-old from Jackson, Wyoming, USA, "We were waiting in our boat for the hunting jaguar to appear for a long time. I saw the movement and started shooting.
"The capybara has managed to escape by diving into the water. The only injury he had was a scratch on his nose.
