extremely successful weekend! Attracting 190,000 local and foreign visitors, the
annual arts carnival fenced with a grand finale parade that included a parade
team of over 700 young people and dozens of local artists and has generated
great excitement at Causeway Bay. Mr. Kam-sing Wong, GBS, JP, Acting Chief
Secretary of Administration, participated in the launching ceremony before the
parade to show his support to the parade team and for the development of local
youth arts.


The parade of the grand finale of the Standard Accredited Arts in Park 2018 took place yesterday! The event consisted of a procession of 12 giant puppets 4 meters high, as well as an exciting parade team of 700 energetic youngsters to maximize the lively atmosphere.

Acting Secretary General of the Administration, Mr. Kam-sing Wong, officiated at the grand finale parade launching ceremony, showing his support to the parade team of 700 people and to the development of local arts for youth.

Standard Chartered Arts in the park has attracted 190,000 visitors this year, who had been through an exciting weekend of sensory experiences in art.


Local professional artists worked with elementary and high school students and devoted months of hard work to creating these giant puppets and over 700 parade art works. During the parade, students walked through Causeway Bay with confidence to celebrate their vibrant creations with the audience.


Throughout the weekend, Victoria Park has been rich in entertaining events, including 16 free interactive art booths, African Drum Jam sessions, as well as non-stop stage performances from 60 talented young bands.

art booths, an exhibition of 450 vintage style posters, live storytelling

A night parade transforms the bay of the roadway

Hysan Avenue and Kai Chiu Road to discover the magic. The featured event
14 illuminated parade works – 7 spectacular giant and 7 luminous puppets
costumes inspired by the favorite characters of The Wizard of Oz – more dancers from Hong Kong Youth
Arts Foundation. The parade's works were

artists and the British Art Group Lantern Company.

featured 12 giant puppets up to 4 meters tall, more than 700 stems
puppets and sensational parade costumes created by local professional artists
and the students.

Both Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Night Parade and Parade of the grand finale were co-organized by
the Cultural and Recreational Services Committee of the Wan Chai District Council. Their

Standard Chartered Arts in the Park is an annual education program who helps
young people in Hong Kong improve their self-confidence and strengthen important
life skills such as creativity, teamwork and problem solving through the arts.
