Although Chris Evans suggested hanging up Captain America's shield after the upcoming Avengers movie, one of his directors said the opposite.

In an interview with USA Today, Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers 4, talked about a tweet that Evans sent goodbye to Captain America. Russo said, "I think it's been more emotional for him than for us just because he's not finished yet, and I will not explain what it means, but the audience will soon understand what I'm talking about. . "

In his initial comment, Evans said that when the filming of Avengers 4 was over, it was "a day to say the least moving," highlighting the eight years he spent playing Captain America. "To all those who are in front of the camera, behind the camera and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."

Elsewhere in the interview, Russo says that the film is about half way through the editorial process and that in the current state of the film, it takes about three hours and is not finished.

While Avengers 4 was almost finished, the Russo brothers were working on the film but also had time to meet with the other directors of MCU on the set of Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
