Former Hong Kong actress Yammie Lam was found dead yesterday in her home in Hong Kong, threatening a life marked by dramatic ups and downs.
Apple Daily News reported that the police had found no evidence of a criminal act in the initial investigation.
Her body was discovered after a friend called the police because the 55-year-old woman was not answering her door.
A senior police official confirmed that the deceased was Lam, according to the South China Morning Post. The source added that his body had no apparent injuries but that it was decomposing by the time it was discovered in the restroom of his home apartment Leung Ma in the Ma Hang area.
Lam was best known for her role as Spider Woman in the 1995 fantasy film A Chinese Odyssey.
Considered as a great beauty at his golden age, Lam began his television career as a TVB talent in Hong Kong. According to Apple Daily, Lam joined TVB's training program in 1983. In the same group were actresses Carina Lau and Sandra Ng.

Following this, Grace Han, former president of Ford Models for Asia-Pacific, also known as China's godfather of modeling, accused Tsang of being a known sexual predator in the industry.
Tsang vigorously denied the accusations, claiming that Lam's video naming him was falsely altered.
Tang passed away in 2011. In the same interview, Lam admitted that once, due to problems in her romantic relationship, she had cut her wrists to try to commit suicide.
But Lam was also known for his erratic behavior, which some people have assumed due to his mental health problems.
She has already been attacked by Taiwanese actress Di Ying.
Lam was often late for filming and programs, causing a lot of frustration to the actors and the team of a 1992 Taiwan drama in which they had played together.
Di, who is still known today for his fiery temperament, was angry at Lam after being late for a scheduled event. She waited for Lam in the lobby of the hotel. When Lam appeared, Di approached her and gave her a violent kick in her belly, which made her stumble back on the hall floor.
Di recounted this story years after the incident and named Lam as a victim in a Taiwanese variety show.
