Will Smith paid a moving tribute to his eldest son, Trey, on Instagram, in the form of a video message on Tuesday (Nov. 27).
Smith reflects on his recent trip to Abu Dhabi with Trey in the clip, with tears in his eyes when he evokes the sincere comment that his 26 year old son told him on their trip. "You're not just my father," Trey told Smith. "I'm pretty sure you're my best friend."
In the legend of his article, Smith also reveals that his relationship with Trey has not always been so easy. "We struggled for years after his mother's divorce," writes Smith. "He felt betrayed and abandoned. Recovering and restoring a love relationship with my son-in-law is a wild blessing! "
Trey was born during Smith's previous marriage to Sheree Zampino, which lasted from 1992 to 1995. Smith has two other children, Jaden and Willow, and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who is almost 21 years old.
