Tom Hiddleston has spoken to Loki in a new TV series.

And it does not exactly sound like the character will be appearing in another movie Avengers, with rumors rife that Loki was killed by Thanos in Infinity War.

It was announced on Friday that Tom, 37, will be reprising his role in the series, which will air on Disney's new streaming service.

The British actor said: 'Loki. More stories to tell. More mischief to make. More to come. '

Seems a whole lot like Tom is ready for a new chapter that does not include Avengers.

Loki was last seen at the beginning of Infinity War, when he was lifted up by one of Thanos' arms and strangled in front of his Thor brother.

Tom has been very young and has just been crowned by a young Marvel.

It's not known how Loki's timeline will fit in with Marvel (Picture: Disney / Marvel)

Addressing the theories that Loki is still alive, Tom said at the ACE Comic-Con in October: 'I've heard some amazing theories about this. I was in a park in London a couple of weeks ago, and some guys come and say "Hi", and they asked me the same question. '

They said, "Hey, listen, we need an answer to this question. All the other times Loki's died "- there have been a few -" he stabs with his right hand. And now he's stabbing with his left hand ". I was like, "That's incredible attention to detail!"
