Unusual law adopted in Argentina.
In Buenos Aires drivers will deny a license for the provision of services through the online service of private taxi service Uber. The relevant document is approved, the members of the Argentine capital, according to the Chronicle.info with reference to 24news.
Under the new law, violators face a withdrawal of the driving licence for up to 30 days and a fine of up to $5.5 thousand
Thus, the local government supported the Union of taxi drivers of Buenos Aires, which want to ban Uber.
In the words of the authors of the initiative, the law is intended to deal with drivers who fail to observe rules of carriage of passengers, putting their lives at risk.
Note that Uber started accepting orders in Buenos Aires in April 2016. Just a few weeks before the local court has accepted to consideration the claim from the trade unions of taxi drivers and ordered to suspend the online service.
