Access to the channels will be split between Sling's two separate service packages, which each cost $ 25 per month. Sling Blue will receive Discovery Channel, Investigation Discovery and TLC. Sling Orange subscribers will have access to Investigation Discovery and MotorTrend, formerly Velocity Network. Blue and Orange plans can be combined for $ 40 per month to access all available channels. The addition of Discovery Networks channels will not increase the cost of base packages.
The rest of Discovery Networks content will be available through additional packages. American Heroes and Destination America are available through the add-on Heartland Extra, Science Channel with the News Extra package, and Discovery en Español and Discovery Familia in the TV complement Best of Spanish. All additional packages with Discovery Networks generate $ 5 per month in addition to the cost for the basic channel group.
Discovery Networks' channels should provide the growing base of Sling subscribers with a little more choice. Some of the channels also serve to replace the networks that Sling lost access to as a result of a dispute with Univision earlier this year.
