San Luis Obispo County reported 217 new cases of COVID-19 over three days, bringing the county’s total to 18,684 confirmed cases as of February 8.
Eighty-eight new cases were added on Saturday, 83 new cases were added on Sunday and 46 new cases were added on Monday.
The county also added two new deaths related to COVID-19. To date, there have been 196 total deaths attributed to the virus in SLO County.
Health officials say 43 people are currently hospitalized. Another 1,136 people are recovering at home and health officials say 17,286 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reports that 20 of the 38 licensed and staffed intensive care beds in the county are currently occupied. Eight of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The whereabouts of an additional 75 cases are under investigation and a further seven are listed as “other”, which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.
Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
