San Luis Obispo County added 145 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county’s total to 17,511 confirmed cases as of January 28.
Health officials say 49 people are currently hospitalized. Another 1,859 people are recovering at home and health officials say 15,408 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reports that 20 of the 38 licensed and staffed intensive care beds in the county are currently occupied. Fourteen of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.
The county also added three new COVID-19-related deaths on Thursday. To date, 164 deaths attributed to the virus have been attributed to the virus in SLO County.

- Avila Beach – 26
- San Simeon – 16
- Bradley – 7
The whereabouts of an additional 61 cases are under investigation and nine more are listed as ‘other’, which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.
Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
