SLO County Reports 324 New Cases of COVID-19, 3 More Deaths

San Luis Obispo County added 324 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county’s total to 15,102 confirmed cases as of January 15.

Health officials say 50 people are hospitalized. Another 2,675 people are recovering at home and health officials say 12,220 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County reports that 17 of 38 licensed and staffed intensive care beds in the county are currently occupied. Six of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

San Luis Obispo County had 128 deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of three from the previous day.

  • Atascadero – 1,334
  • Arroyo Grande – 1,086
  • Nipomo – 1,050
  • Grover Beach – 651
  • Ocean – 517
  • Templeton – 447
  • San Miguel – 378
  • Bears – 340
  • Morro Bay – 303
  • Cal Poly (campus residents) – 256
  • Pismo Beach – 224
  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) – 180
  • Cambria – 119
  • Shandon – 114
  • Saint Margaret – 103
  • Creston – 63
  • Cayucos – 55
  • Avila Beach – 24
  • Shell Beach – 13
  • San Simeon – 10

The whereabouts of an additional 80 cases are under investigation, and eight more are listed as “other”, which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach, and Nipomo.
