San Luis Obispo County opens COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all residents 30 years of age and older.
According to county public health officials, about 60,000 additional residents of SLO County are eligible for the vaccine; however, those most at risk of serious consequences from COVID-19 will be prioritized when scheduling an appointment.
Eligible residents can register for an appointment at the county’s three vaccination clinics in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, and Arroyo Grande by visiting recoverslo.org/vaccine or by calling the helpline at (805) 543-2444 or (805) 781- 4280.
The county public health department reports that it has enough vaccine to administer around 10,000 first doses next week.
Other currently eligible groups include:
- High risk residents due to certain serious medical conditions or disabilities
- Education and child care workers
- Emergency service workers
- Food and agriculture workers
- Public transport workers
- Janitorial service workers
- Health workers and community health workers
- Residents and staff of long-term care facilities
- Residents who live or work in a homeless shelter or behavioral health facility
- Judicial system and jurors
County officials note that some vaccine providers who receive their vaccine allowance from the federal government, including pharmacies, may not offer vaccines to those over 30 right away.
