SMH reports 4 additional COVID-19 patient deaths on Wednesday

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sarasota Memorial Hospital reports four additional patient deaths following its latest COVID-19 update.

The Sarasota Memorial Hospital confirmed to ABC7 that it had rented a refrigerated truck to help store the bodies if the death rate at the hospital increased beyond its capacity.

Kim Savage, spokesperson for the hospital, issued the following statement: “We have hired a refrigerated trailer as a precaution to increase the capacity of our mortuary in case it becomes necessary during this fourth wave of the pandemic. The trailer is not in use at the moment, but is being prepared in case we see an increase in the days / weeks to come. “

The intensive care beds are also on the verge of reaching the last defined capacity, which is monitored by a team of doctors on site.
