Snapchat could integrate a new feature next month

Following the dominance of Instagram, Snapchat is no longer growing, the platform began to lose daily active users. The parent company Snap is aware of this and, in order to stimulate interest in the platform, will soon introduce a new feature.

According to a report by CheddarSnap will announce a new mobile gaming platform – called "Project Cognac" – on April 4 at the Los Angeles Summit, bringing together content partners and developers. The new platform will be seamlessly integrated into Snapchat and should include a number of third-party games designed to work specifically within the application.

As for the games that can be expected, no title has yet been confirmed. However, the company seems to develop some internal offers. Snap would work with the giant of the game Tencent on some exclusive titles. He also acquired the Prettygreat gaming studio last year. An employee of this studio is both "Fruit Ninja" and "Jetpack Joyride".

The new games will provide an additional source of revenue for Snap, which should appeal to investors. For the moment, however, we do not know how society will choose to monetize games. Snap can either implement a variety of in-app purchases or rely solely on advertising. Alternatively, the social media giant could choose a combination of both.
