The Apple Watch Series 5 is the first version of the smart watch to include a built-in compass, but if you plan to buy one, be aware that choosing your band can affect its accuracy.

All the others of the Apple range and everything will be fine, but you should also know that you buy third party groups. If this is your case and you want maximum precision of the compass, make sure that it contains no magnetic components.
Why does this happen? A compass is orientated to the magnetic field of the Earth, but another magnetic force – in this case, which comes from the band – can confuse it, which can lead to an inaccurate result.
At least with the 5 Series, Apple finally allows you to associate different watches and tapes at the point of purchase, rather than having to buy additional tapes separately.
