Some LAX travelers may have been exposed to measles, warn health authorities

LOS ANGELES (KABC) – County Health Authorities warn of possible exposure to measles in LAX.

According to officials, a person with measles passed through the Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, February 21.

The infected person arrived at 9:00 am on China Eastern flight 583 at Terminal B at Tom Bradley International Airport at 9:00 am and stopped at Gate 32 of Delta Airlines Terminal 3, pending his departure for flight DL 5705 from Delta that day.

Anyone who was at Terminal B or Terminal 3 of the Delta 3 that day from 9:00 to 21:00. may be at risk of contracting measles.

Individual passengers on the Delta flight will also receive direct notification of a possible exposure.

County health officials said they were informed of the case on Thursday, March 7th. They claimed that there was no current risk at the airport and that there was no risk for anyone eating food at the airport this that day because measles was transmitted from one person to another through the air.

Symptoms of measles include cough, fever, runny nose, red eyes and a rash usually appearing 10 to 21 days after exposure.

If you do not develop any symptoms by Thursday, March 14th, you are no longer considered to be at risk for this incident.
